For music lovers and musicians, the name of Bon Jovi is the name of one of the most famous and world renowned musical phenomenon of all time. This revolutionary band formed in 1983, originally consisted of Jon Bon Jovi, the lead singer, guitarist Richie Sambora, keyboardist David Bryan, drummer Tico Torres and bassist Hugh Macdonald. This band from Sayreville, New Jersey has witnessed only one change during its history and that is the departure of John Alan Such in 1994.
The band’s music reached cataclysmic heights, with the release of their album, “Slippery when Wet” in 1986. The 1980s was the golden age of the Bon Jovi’s. They were recording and performing at concerts and their fame only grew from thereon. They managed to grow the range of their audience as well with the release of “It’s My Life” back in 2000. Their latest album, “The Circle” was released back in 2009.
The leader of the band, Jon Bon Jovi is not only famous as a musician but also as a humanitarian. He received his Doctorate in Humanities from the University in Monmouth in 2001. He is also a very popular political figure, having campaigned during numerous elections including for Barak Obama in the 2008 presidential election.
Jon Bon Jovi’s growing perspective and understanding of the trends in music led to his band being inducted into the UK Music Hall of Fame in 2006. In 2004, the American Music Awards also recognized the band’s contributions to the world of music. Given the number of hit singles that they had inspired, it was only natural that Jon Bon Jovi and Riche Sambora be inducted into the Song Writer’s Hall of Fame in 2009. This classic rock band was honored with a nomination for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2010. Even with such an esteemed history, Bon Jovi is still performing to record crowds today. Because of the demand for tickets, cheap Bon Jovi concert tickets can be hard to come by. Either way, it is worth the price!
The band has lived the dream of every musician who ever picked up an instrument. They have eleven studio albums in their name as well as three compilation albums and one live album. They have played an astonishing 2600 concerts in over 50 countries for over a jaw dropping 34 million fans worldwide. The fact they have sold over 130 million records is evidence of the legacy that they are going to leave behind. They have inspired yet another chapter in the history of Rock and Roll music. Something that makes the four individuals immortals, as far as being an artist is concerned.
